DESCRIPTION:BIO\nXavier Ros Oton is ICREA Professor at the Universitat de B
 arcelona (UB) where he heads the Research Group on Partial Differential Eq
 uations. He is the principal researcher of an ERC Starting Grant (2019-202
 4) and will soon begin an ERC Consolidator Grant (2024-2029). Formerly he 
 was a lecturer at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) and an R. H. Bing
  instructor at the University of Texas at Austin (United States). His work
  focuses on the study of elliptic partial differential equations and varia
 tional theory. He has received several awards for young mathematicians in 
 Spain including the National Research Prize for young researchers in Mathe
 matics and Computer Science in 2023\, as well as the Scientific Research A
 ward from the Fundaci&oacute\;n Princesa de Girona in 2019 and the Stampac
 chia Gold Medal in 2021\, an international prize awarded every three years
  in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Calculus of Variations
 . In 2022\, he was elected as an 'Acad&eacute\;mico Correspondiente' of th
 e Spanish Royal Academy of Sciences.\n&nbsp\;
