 IP Publishing: APL Energy\, where I am Editor-in-Chief. I will present the
  scientific vision of the journal\, introduce you to its main objectives a
 nd article types. APL Energy&nbsp\;will feature research related to energy
  and the integration of different energy technologies. It covers different
  areas of energy research and applications\, from materials for energy and
  energy sources\, applications of energy generation\, storage and harvesti
 ng\, including renewable energy and sustainability. I will also introduce 
 a new article type\, the &ldquo\;Proof of Concepts and Prototypes&rdquo\;\
 , a brief description of an already demonstrated or intellectual property 
 (IP) protected idea and its pathway to commercial viability. We welcome yo

 fessor and Group Leader of the Nanostructured Materials for Photovoltaic E
 nergy Group at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IC
 N2) in Barcelona\, Spain. She is currently Editor-in-Chief of APL Energy (
 AIP Publishing).\n&nbsp\;\n16:15 - 16:30&nbsp\;\"How to start writing your
  paper\"\, with&nbsp\;Dr. Shriyaa Mittal\, Journal Manager\, AIP Publishin
 g (USA)\nWell-organized and clearly written papers are key to communicatio
 n of scientific ideas. Readers should be excited by the title and abstract
 \, drawn into the topic by the introduction\, and appreciative of the wide
 r significance after reading the discussion. There are many ways to approa
 ch writing and several different structures that can be used. In this talk
 \, I will provide strategies to begin drafting your paper and discuss comm
 on mistakes to avoid.\nBIO: Dr. Shriyaa Mittal is a Journal Manager at AIP
  Publishing working on open access journals including APL Energy and APL M
 achine Learning. Before coming to AIP Publishing\, she was a postdoctoral 
 fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. She h
 olds a PhD in Biophysics and Quantitative Biology from the University of I
