DESCRIPTION:PROFILE:&nbsp\;\nProf. Dr. Beatriz Rold&aacute\;n Cuenya studie
 d at the University of Oviedo (Spain) and received her Ph.D. from the Univ
 ersity of Duisburg-Essen (Germany). As a postdoc she worked at the Univers
 ity of California\, Santa Barbara and subsequently became professor at the
  University of Central Florida (USA). In 2013\, she accepted a Chair Facul
 ty position in Solid State Physics at the Ruhr-Universit&auml\;t Bochum (G
 ermany). Since 2017 she has been a Director at the Fritz Haber Institute\,
  where she heads the Department of Interface Science. She is also currentl
 y interim director of Inorganic Chemistry Department. Her main research in
 terests are the synthesis of nanostructured materials with tunable surface
  properties and the experimental investigation of structure-reactivity rel
 ationships in thermal and electro-catalysis using in situ and operando met
 hods.
